What Traceability Means in LXP?

Traceability in Links Explorer (LXP) means giving you a real-time, structured view of how your work items are connected β€” no matter where they live. Instead of manually searching through links or switching between Jira screens, LXP brings the full picture to you in one place.

LXP takes this concept further by offering two powerful ways to explore those relationships:

  • A Unified Tree View for navigating the hierarchy of connected work items

    • In the Tree View, traceability is visual and hierarchical. It shows how one work item connects to others in a cascading structure β€” whether it's downstream tasks or cross-linked dependencies.

    • You can expand each level to uncover the full chain, helping you see what’s blocked, what’s missing, or what needs follow-up β€” all in one interactive flow.

  • A Traceability Report for structured analysis and exporting insights

    • In the Traceability Report, traceability is organized and structured in a table format.
You can view relationships in different ways:

      • Issue Type View – Groups work items by their types, showing how they contribute across stages.

      • Link Type View – Focuses on relationship types, giving clarity on the purpose of the connection.

      • Tree View Tab – Displays multi-node and multi-hierarchy structures.
