Getting error : RMsis is already connected to a JIRA Instance
Question : I have RMSIS plugin installed in Jira 6. I upgraded Jira 6 to Jira 6.3 . Now, RMSIS is giving this error:
Error : RMsis is already connected to JIRA instance "B9SN-HBXF-8609-D7BX"
It can be connected to only one Jira instance.
It cannot be connected to this JIRA instance "A5QA-OJM0-T38R-8PIA"
How can I access RMsis now?
Answer :
It seems like you have installed a new instance of JIRA (JIRA 6.3) and then imported the database dump of your JIRA 6 instance in this new instance.
Due to this, your JIRA Server ID has changed.
RMsis can be connected to only one JIRA instance at any point of time (since the data of RMsis is closely correlated with JIRA).
In your scenario, RMsis has established data dependency on your previous JIRA instance (JIRA 6). Hence detection of a new JIRA installation leads to display of error.
Now, in order to resolve this issue, you will need to update the JIRA Server ID in RMsis database.
Please follow the steps given below to resolve this issue :
Take a Backup of your RMsis database. This is not necessary, if you already have a backup, which can be restored.
In your RMsis database, update the value in the Column: external_id in table: organization with your new JIRA server ID. i.e. replace "B9SN-HBXF-8609-D7BX" (old JIRA server ID) with "A5QA-OJM0-T38R-8PIA" (new JIRA server ID).
If you face any issue in updating your RMsis database with the new JIRA server ID, please send us a mail at <support@optimizory.com> specifying which database you are using (MySQL/ MSSQL/ Postgres). We will accordingly send you an SQL query to update the JIRA server ID.
