You can get a more personalized experience of the Hierarchical view by using the following handy tools –

The Item Fields Dropdown Menu

You can find the Item fields dropdown menu just above the tree. By toggling the fields within this dropdown, you can add or remove specific information fields on the item nodes of the tree.

Usage

  1. Click on the Item Fields dropdown menu to view the list of boards that your tree is working with.

  2. Choose the board name of the item whose fields you want to configure. This opens up a submenu showing the list of fields in that board.

  3. Select (or deselect) the checkboxes next to each field to display (or hide) them in the relevant item nodes of the tree.

    1. You can use the Select All and the Clear All buttons for faster (de)selection.

  4. The changes are reflected in the tree immediately, with the item cards updating to show or hide the selected fields.

Use this menu to get quick access to pertinent information without needing to navigate away from the app.

Storage Support

The app's storage support is designed to enhance your experience by remembering your custom settings. Once you configure the Item Fields Dropdown to display certain fields in the tree, the app saves these preferences. This means that when you return to the app, your personalized settings are automatically loaded, eliminating the need for repeated configuration. You get a consistent and efficient experience, allowing you to focus on your tasks without the hassle of frequent setup adjustments.

Open Item Card

Each item has an👁️ icon next to it. You can click on the icon to open up monday.com’s Item card to get a more detailed view of the item. Here, you can also proceed to edit its field values if you like.

When you make a change to a field value in the detailed window, you might need to re-open the app for the change to be reflected in the hierarchical view.
