The Traceability Report
The Traceability Report is a powerful matrix-style view in Links Explorer that lets teams analyze work item relationships across categories like requirements, testing, design, support, and more — all in one place.
Unlike the Unified Tree View, which shows a vertical hierarchy, this report delivers a horizontal, tabular breakdown of traceability, making it easier to align stakeholders, spot gaps, and present compliance evidence.
How It Helps Traceability
Follows a work item across its lifecycle
From initial requirement to implementation and testing — you can see how each work item connects, who’s responsible, and what’s still missing.
Group by types of relationships
Each column represents a specific role or function — like "Sub-task", "Product Requirement", or "Regulatory Requirement". This helps you verify if each parent item has the required linked items under every category.
Highlights missing links
When a row has empty columns, it immediately signals that something is missing — maybe a requirement without a test, or a task without supporting documentation.
Gives shared visibility
The report format is easy for engineering, quality, and compliance teams to read and act on — without needing to interpret raw issue links.
